Sets up and operates a variety of CNC and conventional machines and related machine shop equipment, including assembly, in support of company activities, as directed
How You Will Help
- Interpret drawings and blueprints in order to set up and operate various CNC and conventional machining centers and lathes.
- Utilize the proper tooling and select the appropriate speed, feed and depth of cut to optimize machining processes.
- Skilled in the use of simple and complicated measuring equipment and methods to ensure work is made to specifications including, but not limited to, height gages, micrometers, calipers, indicators, Go/No Go gages, thread micrometers and gauges, etc.
- May be required to operate multiple machines at any given time.
- Store all tooling, inserts and additional point-of-use items in an organized manner, in drawers, on work bench etc. with proper labels, color coding, floor marking or other identifying mechanism.
- Maintain work area as well as machines, tools, and equipment to meet program requirements.
- Use crane, dollies and carts to obtain and return material to and from storage area and move completed job to next operation.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Identify and assist in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the work place.
- Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader/Supervisor
What You Will Have
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to use measuring equipment such as measuring tapes, verniers and calipers, and read gauges.
- Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift and use hoists to pick up heavy parts.
- General computer skills
- CMM experience is a plus
- Must have 5 years minimum experience practicing G-Code programming and program modification on FANUC controls
- MasterCAM experience preferred.
