Hybrid Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Supervisor chez Sempra Infrastructure

Primary Purpose

The Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating the compliance with the health, safety, security and environmental programs set forth in the EPC agreement as well as joint goals established on site including assisting the establishment of the safety culture on site at mobilization.  Supervise a team of safety field staff to ensure the implementation of programs results to a positive outcome in health, safety, security and environmental requirements. Backfill the HSSE Manager position when required.

This position reports to HSSE Manager and will primarily be located at the project site. Occasional travel to Contractor's office or HCOE during pre-construction activities may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs field observations, opportunity walks, JSEA, tool box meetings, lessons learned, stand downs, incident investigations and internal and external audits including implementation of corrective actions
• Responsible for supervising a team of HSSE professionals at site including providing guidance, training, and technical support.
• Responsible for interfacing with the EPC Contractor HSSE team, with respect to all HSSE issues. Responsible for monitoring, tracking and providing accurate HSSE data to HSSE Manager e.g. near misses, high potential near misses, First Aids, Leading and Lagging Indicators. Responsible for ensuring the compliance with applicable codes, implementation of effective HSSE Management program by EPC Contractor including exercising Stop Work Authority in accordance with the EPC contract.
• Provides subject matter expert recommendations on HSSE best practices. Collaborates closely, participate and facilitate meetings with contractor HSSE Supervisor and field advisors for positive outcomes.
• Reviews and provides comments to HSSE Manager for EPC Contractor and any other third party HSSE management systems, documentation, while ensuring compliance with project requirements. Supports the manager with development, updating, and maintaining HSSE plans, procedures, manuals and programs.
• Monitors and maintains a thorough control and understanding of all federal, state and local health and safety regulations, legislation and policies, to keep project team informed of changes and impacts and to recommend solutions. Assist HSSE Manager with communication, interaction and working closely with regulatory agencies and with various departments to facilitate compliance and effective implementation of plans
• Responsible for conducting and participating in internal and external audits.
• Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
