Hybrid Educational Assistant II - Part-Time (Special Education) chez Central Point School District 6

POSITION: Educational Assistant II/Special Education- Part-Time 
HOURS: 3.75 hours per day
BUILDING: Crater High School
CALENDAR: 184 days per year (August - June)

 

• COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
• $17.16 - $20.06, depending upon approved accepted experience
• Longevity pay after completion of 6 years of employment

1. Assists in implementing classroom learning exercises planned by the Teacher.
2. Oversees group activity in the classroom, including supervision of the whole class for short periods of time.
3. Assists small groups or individuals with skill reinforcement or lesson assignments.
4. Presents teacher-designed subject matter to students through a variety of methods, including lecture, discussion and supervised individual and group skill development and reinforcement.
5. Coordinates daily activities and instruction as directed.
6. Assists in proctoring student assessments and maintenance of student records, including attendance, progress, grades and the preparation of IEP and PEP documents.  Assists Teacher in measuring student-produced work products against clear rubrics or answer keys.
7. Supervises various student gathering points, including playgrounds, cafeteria, bus stops and hallways.
8. Assists in classroom set-up and maintenance of materials and supplies.
9. Corrects student work.
10. Distributes instructional materials.
11. Confers with teaching staff or parents about student progress and provides observational feedback on student behavior.
12. Assists in ordering, preparing and administering instructional materials.
13. Assists in preparing for IEP meetings and in the implementation and tracking of IEP data.
14. Assists in behavioral management, including modeling appropriate behavior and responding to discipline problems.
15. Accompanies students on school bus routes, providing general supervision of all students. 
16. Assists with other classroom duties as directed by the Teacher.
17. Performs various clerical duties, including word processing, phone coverage, preparing instructional materials, maintaining files and records and interfacing with the public.
18. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to a supervisor.
19. Complies with standards and responsibilities outlined in the District employee handbook and all other District policies and procedures.

1. Must have one of the following:
   1. an Associates degree from an accredited institution.
   2. evidence of completion of two years of post-high school study.
   3. a passing score on the District’s assessment of reading, writing and math skills.
2. Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
3. Must possess a general knowledge of English language arts and mathematics.
4. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
