Hybrid Municipal Service Worker/B chez City of North Miami Beach, FL

About the Department

This is facility maintenance and public service oriented position. This position ensures the overall cleanliness of the library facility. This position is responsible for the exterior and interior maintenance of the facility as well as programing furniture set-up. Reports to Library Public Services Manager/ Circulation Supervisor. 

Position Duties

• Dust Shelves, easels, and Wall Hangings
• Vacuum, sweep, and clean interior and pressure clean exterior of facility.
• Maintain bathroom and or provides access to bathroom as needed.
• Supports staff in public library programming by setting meeting room up for various library and public uses.
• Attends Emergency incidents involving body fluid removal from bathrooms and public areas.
• Removes hazardous or unsightly debris or items from library area.
• Is available for special programming.
• Demonstrates superior customer service and models our Service Standards of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 

Must be able to work various shifts and weekends. 

Strong communication skills required, including fluency in English ( oral and written). Bilingual preferred Spanish, French/Creole, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin. 

Other Qualifications

Ability to maintain a facility in a clean and orderly fashion.
 
Ability to sanitize rest-rooms and areas needing removal of bodily fluids. 

Ability to lift and remove large items. Ability to set up rooms, and support staff during public programming. 

Ability to use independent judgment and discretion. 

Must communicate effectively orally. Bilingual communication skills a plus.
