We have excellent opportunities for an experienced caregiver to provide support to disabled adults. Support will focus on providing a nurturing living environment that meets personal and medical needs, supports personal development and offers community opportunities to foster relationships.
The Company:
Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a family based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights since 1963. We support over 400 Individuals in Central Alberta and in The North West Territories.
The Position:
Providing a stable, supportive home environment in Red Deer; encourage positive development and personal growth; facilitate daily routine activities; encourage and assist engagement in meaningful community involvement; participate in the development and implementation of personalized goals; support and supervision in all aspects of her activities, meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking, and promoting, empowering and supporting her wellness in all aspects of life.
- Tax free monthly remuneration is $2299.00. There may also be weekly hours of Community bridging services for the individual.
- Two days per month of respite will be provided
Requirements:
- Completed High School Diploma or General Equivalency
- Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle (with valid insurance & registration)
- Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Record Check
- Home must comply with required safety standards without other young or adult children
- Ability to use adaptive communication skills would be beneficial
- Ability to provide 24-hour close and constant supervision is required; she will need supports in making decisions.
- A creative and active lifestyle is considered an asset. Required activities may include swimming, bowling, the arts and other community events
- Experience following behavior programs and positive approaches would be an asset.
