Hilltop Holdings is seeking to hire a Facilities Engineer.

The Facilities Engineer will oversee maintenance work on multiple buildings in the Lubbock, TX market. Duties include but not limited to, rooftop HVAC units and chilled water systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems, groundskeeping and parking lots. Managing third party vendors performing services and also self-performing duties such as repair & maintenance work on interior finish systems, lighting systems, bank equipment and various other R&M tasks associated with operation of a commercial property.  The position is based at a PlainsCapital Bank branch in Lubbock and includes travel to various bank locations within the Lubbock market. Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment. Will require daily interaction with teams in person, on the phone, and via email in order to perform job duties

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and various other building systems. Must possess ability to maintain multiple properties in peak operational condition.
  • Identify energy savings opportunities at facilities including system and operational changes that can decrease the property’s energy consumption.
  • Perform routine building maintenance, plumbing and other tasks as necessary.
  • Independently plan work assignments, perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision, and supervise direct reports and/or vendors in the general maintenance and operation of buildings and grounds.
  • Assist with scanning and tracking fine art in the Lubbock region.
  • On-call 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Other functions as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to report to our PlainsCapital Main Bank located at 5010 University Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79413, without the need for relocation assistance. 
  • Possess working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, and commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems)
  • Experience in bank systems R&M a plus.
  • Prior construction management experience a plus.
  • Ability to effectively use a computer and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite), skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications, and ability to use handheld electronic devices (e.g. smart phone)
  • Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants and clients.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a background check including drug screen and Motor Vehicle Report
