Description

The primary responsibility of the Floor Technician is to keep all floors throughout the facility maintained to meet standards of quality, quantity, and safety.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
• Prior experience in floor maintenance field preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Current Virginia driver’s license and meets driver eligibility requirements per Sunnyside policy HR069.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
• Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals. 

Requirements

• Evaluate and determine cleanliness of floors; based on evaluation, perform duties to maintain standards for cleanliness.
• Clean and scrub dining area floors as scheduled
• Vacuum all common hallways daily.
• Shampoo all common carpeted areas monthly and as needed.
• Operate extractor, clean heavy traffic areas and spots in all halls using correct measurement of cleaning chemicals and perform extracting timely.
• Shampoo ground floor traffic areas weekly and as needed.
• Maintain all outside entry areas on a weekly basis to keep them free from debris.
• Handle floor cleaning chemicals and solvents safely and keep stored properly.
• Report housekeeping and maintenance requests by completing appropriate form within appropriate time frame.  Also reports all unsafe working conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervisor.
• Maintain equipment used to perform daily duties, ensuring cleanliness and inventory of supplies. 
• Discern cleanliness of all flooring areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
