- Chemical and physical analysis of beer, beverages, and materials
- Initiate documentation of research projects using established department methods and procedures
- Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and improves R&D laboratory analytical equipment (Including but not limited to GC, GCMS, LC, ICP/OES, fluorescence microscope, microplate reader, and turbiscan)
- Collect, organize, and present data with the highest level of integrity
- Draft clear, focused reports and presentations within an established time
- Coordinate project needs from collaborating departments and groups
- Conduct high-level literature reviews
- Build and deliver frequent presentations to relevant brewery groups
- Create SOPs as required; use R&D and company established format.
- Participate as part of a team in experimental design brainstorming sessions
- Train new R&D team members on analytical and department workflow methods
- Actively participate in all department meetings
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, technology or food related discipline required
- 1 year of lab experience in CPG or food and beverage with brewing or fermentation science preferred
- Strong technical communication and collaboration skills
- Developing problem-solving skills. Ability to internalize key technical topics and apply them to real world problems and projects
- Ability to provide effective presentations within small and large group settings
- Ability to master operation several laboratory analytical instruments
- Ability to participate in brewing raw materials related projects.
- Ability to develop working knowledge of brewing and beverage unit operations
- Foundational knowledge of statistical applications to research; understands correct testing methods for specific data.
- Developing skillset to produce product quality and innovation insights from the scientific method.
- Strong time management and organizational skills
R&D Analyst 2

- Initiate documentation and leadership of research projects using established department methods and procedures
- Operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of R&D laboratory analytical equipment (Including but not limited to GC, GCMS, LC, ICP/OES, fluorescence microscope, micro plate reader, turbiscan)
- Collect, organize, and visualize data with highest level of integrity
- Draft clear, focused reports and presentations within an established time
- Coordinate project needs from collaborating departments, vendors, and institutions
- Conduct high level literature reviews
- Create and deliver frequent presentations to relevant work groups.
- Create SOPs as required using R&D and company established format
- Train new R&D team members on analytical and department workflows and methods
- May act as a department liaison with small scale, nano brewery for all material and process evaluation
May perform basic supporting tasks for product legal and regulatory requirements
Please Apply if You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, technology or food related discipline required
- 2 years industry lab experience in CPG or food and beverage required and
- 1 year research and development lab experience in CPG or food and beverage with brewing or fermentation science required and
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects and coordinating intra and inter department resources
- Demonstrated record keeper; ability to follow SOPs for project execution
- Ability to provide clear, concise presentations to small and large groups
- Exhibits confidence and proficiency with several laboratory instruments; s. s. Shows high-level knowledge in at least one primary laboratory instrument.
- High-level understanding of analytical method development process with exhibited success developing new methods in an R&D setting
- Strong technical communication and collaboration skills
- Exhibits a solid understanding of statistical applications to research
- Exhibits solid understanding of correct testing methods and applications to deliver specific data in support of projects
- Demonstrated understanding of new product development principles
- Demonstrated understanding of food safety, regulatory, and compliance principles as applied to ingredients, new product development, and change management
