Spire Gatwick Park are looking for a Host and Catering Assistant to join the bank staffing. You will provide a quality food and beverage service to patients and visitors at ward/daycare level working with the Support services, administration and Nursing teams. We are seeking someone with Strong hands-on experience working in a kitchen as a kitchen assistant.

- Responsible for taking meal orders from patients and visitors on a daily basis.
- Observe all dietary requirements as identified on nurses list and ensure patient’s menu choice is compatible
- Convey compliments and complaints relating to food and food services to the line manager
- Report to nursing staff patients who may be experiencing eating difficulties e.g. poor appetite, difficulty in swallowing or chewing
- Ensures that all crockery and cutlery is presented to the patient clean and undamaged.
- Reports all incidents of damage to stock and equipment to the line manager
- Responsible for washing, drying and putting away of returned trays, crockery, cutlery and glassware
Who we're looking for:
- Experience working unsupervised and on own initiative, prioritising tasks
- Strong hands-on experience working in a kitchen as a kitchen assistant
- Confident in managing day-to-day staff restaurant operations as well us interaction with patients us a host
- Someone with a proactive attitude who can adapt quickly to a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- A positive and flexible approach to customer service
- Good communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Experience in a similar role is essential
- Willing and able to complete mandatory training for COSSH, Manual Handling, Infection Control, food hygiene and Health & Safety in-house.
