Substance Use Disorder Counselor – Clinical Supervisor – Noble Community Clinics

Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor – Clinical Supervisor to join our Behavioral Health team. This dual role includes both direct clinical care and clinical supervision. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional with experience in substance use treatment, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for supporting both clients and clinicians on the path to recovery.
This position maintains a caseload while also overseeing the work of SUD counselors, ensuring compliance with state regulations and upholding Noble’s standards for quality care. Services include individual and group therapy, case management, and clinical oversight in support of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision & Leadership
- Provide consistent 1:1 and group clinical supervision to SUD counseling staff.
- Review and approve SUD assessments, treatment plans, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DHS 75.50 regulations and Noble’s clinical policies.
- Maintain accurate records of supervision using Noble’s approved documentation forms.
- Provide training, professional development, and clinical support to team members.
- Collaborate with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision coverage.
Clinical Care & Coordination
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and determine treatment needs using ASAM criteria.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans rooted in evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct individual and group counseling for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Engage in case management and coordinate care with community partners, including probation officers, attorneys, prescribers, and mental health providers.
- Participate in integrated care team meetings, staff training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and support patients participating in MAT programs.
- Document services and maintain accurate clinical records in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
- Assist with community outreach and education about Noble’s Community Recovery Center services.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) required.
- Intermediate or Independent Clinical Supervisor Certification (ICS) required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical supervision experience.
- CPR/BLS certification required within six months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of addiction, recovery, and co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex cases.
- Proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems (experience with EPIC is a plus).
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage crisis situations and provide effective consultation.
