Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced 2nd Shift Production Manager to lead all production operations during the second shift at our food manufacturing facility. As the highest-ranking leader on-site during this shift, the Production Manager is fully responsible for meeting safety, quality, and production goals while ensuring efficient operations and adherence to company standards. This role manages a team of Production Supervisors and collaborates closely with cross-functional departments to maintain optimal performance and workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all production operations on 2nd shift, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Manage and coach two Production Supervisors, ensuring effective leadership across production teams.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet production goals and customer expectations.
- Serve as the highest-level decision-maker on-site during the shift, handling operational issues and escalations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles; identify and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMPs, and company policies.
- Partner with the Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and HR teams to ensure smooth operations and timely communication.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, and waste.
- Support employee training, engagement, and development to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of CPG production environments and food safety standards.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work 2nd shift hours and respond effectively to dynamic production demands.
