Description
General Definition:
- Conducts monetary transactions and provides sales assistance to gift shop patrons in a professional and ethical manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greets gift shop customers and offers advice as requested in a friendly, professional manner.
- Receives cash or checks or completes credit-card charge transactions according to established procedures.
- Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received.
- Issues change and compares totals on cash register with amount of currency in register to verify balances.
- Resolves customer complaints when possible and reports concerns to Department Head.
- Monitors checkout stations to reduce customer delay.
- Furnishes information both printed and verbal regarding all customer related services provided throughout the facility.
- Provide direction regarding all informational services and products to groups scheduled for specific events.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly and service oriented manner.
- Maintain and complete all opening /closing duties and cash handling procedures according to established policies.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six (6) month related experience and/or training; or combination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to work as a team required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
