Position Summary
As a Lead Teacher, your primary responsibility is to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom experience. You will plan and implement curriculum that sparks learning and creativity, support children’s emotional and social growth through positive guidance, and build trusting relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver hands-on, age-appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
- Promote independence, social skills, and problem-solving through nurturing guidance
- Ensure the health and safety of all children at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
- Build and maintain open, positive communication with families
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, supportive workplace culture

Requirements
Certifications and Qualifications:
- Must meet DCF 251 qualifications for a Child Care Teacher.
- Prior experience working in a licensed child care setting as a Lead or Assistant Teacher.
- Creative, flexible, energetic, and patient.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to engage with children at their level and respond to their individual needs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.
- Must complete a physician-signed health examination and fingerprint-based background check before beginning work.
- CPR certification within 60 days of hire (we offer certification classes that are FREE for staff)
