AltaGas - Financial Analyst, Trucking Operations
AltaGas is looking for a sharp, proactive Financial Analyst to join our Midstream Finance team, supporting the Trucking Operations. This is a great opportunity for someone earlier in their career who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and improving processes.
You’ll play a key role in month-end reporting, analyzing operational and capital data, and helping build out cleaner, more effective reporting tools. If you’re strong in Excel and Power Query, love organizing and optimizing workflows, and want to work closely with operations to make a real impact—this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare and enter accounting entries
Analyze operational earnings
Provide monthly variance reports and account reconciliations
Prepare and review invoices and manage accounts receivable
Maintain and validate master data in operational systems
Partner with operations managers to identify improvements and support cost tracking
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Continuously seek ways to improve accuracy and efficiency in reporting
What You'll Bring:
2–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, Oil & Gas preferred
CPA designation or working toward one is an asset
Advanced Excel and Power Query skills; JD Edwards and Power BI experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, business-partner mindset
Interest in learning the trucking business and understanding operations
