Job Summary:
Use your kitchen design expertise to provide design and layout reviews and general design and product support to designers working in big-box retail stores. Think of it as practical design support and training and peer-to-peer coaching for kitchen designers.
What you’ll do:
- Act as a design expert and coach, articulating product specifications, features, and benefits, making recommendations based on customer needs, and providing guidance on technical kitchen design, including 2020 design support.
- Evaluate submitted kitchen designs/layouts for accuracy to avoid costly errors, delivering a complete design review packet to the designer with required changes and recommended improvements.
- Communicate with designers via chat, email, and phone, building the relationship through high levels of service. Responsible for listening for themes and understanding trigger statements.
- Advocate for the designer’s success by anticipating challenges, removing barriers, setting expectations, and resolving issues using your problem-solving skills and connecting with other internal stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with assigned designers through proactive and reactive touch points and support.
- Facilitate virtual one-on-one and group training sessions on relevant topics such as 2020, new product introductions, kitchen trends, and new designer onboarding.
- Create full designs to assist with designer capacity.
- Deliver an exceptional end-to-end communication experience, focusing on accuracy and being responsive to multiple inquiries simultaneously.
- Consult virtually with end consumers to explore needs and wants, and to set proper expectations for a positive buying experience.
What makes you a good fit for this position:
- You have 5+ years of experience designing kitchens.
- You are fluent in using 2020 Technologies software.
- You have a passion for coaching and training other designers, from design veterans to those new to the trade.
- You are comfortable working with all types of personalities and excited to engage with them, whether in person or virtually.
- You are a multi-tasker who can handle multiple interactions simultaneously, while maintaining a cool and positive demeanor.
- You are comfortable with one-on-one conversations or leading a virtual group discussion on kitchen design.
- You have strong problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- You have solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The hours for this position are 9am-6pm Pacific Time
A major PLUS, but not required:
- National Kitchen & Bath Association Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) credentials
- Retail kitchen design experience
- Experience in facilitating training sessions or classes – in person or virtual
- Customer service experience
