Job Summary: You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Dry Dock Safety Certification Program of the Independent Oversight Division in the Industrial Operations Directorate of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT. Major Duties:
- You will be responsible for the administration of the “Safety Certification Program for Dry-docking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for U.S. Navy Ships,” MIL-STD-1625.
- You will meet and resolve issues for more than 80 certified facilities of varying types on a case-by-case basis.
- You will plan, manage, and coordinate various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and other pertinent factor/system performance analysis.
- You will participate with top management officials in persuading users to accept new systems or equipment.
- You will conduct feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate, and determine the practicability and adaptability of proposed solutions.
- You will define and coordinate analysis results with other engineers and managers.
- You will determine and evaluate the efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure satisfactory progress and fulfillment of requirements.
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering guidance on programs or projects for the improvement, design, development, maintenance, or repair of surface ships to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
