Position Overview

The Event Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring our events are executed at the highest level while also identifying and driving opportunities for organizational growth. This individual will manage day-to-day event operations, develop and refine operational strategies, lead staffing initiatives, and foster strong client and partner relationships that fuel expansion. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide creative directions to ensure the company maintains industry leadership. 
  • Uphold a high standard of creativity, recommending new and innovative products and services. 
  • Stay informed of industry competition and market shifts. 
  • Collaborate with executives to advise and counsel on public relations strategies, opportunities, and demographic trends. 
  • Seek out and assist with potential acquisitions to expand the company's portfolio and influence. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with key professionals and influencers within the dance industry. 
  • Manage the Judge Team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance oversight. 
  • Support the Client Engagement Department with event staff scheduling, communication, and general staffing needs. 
  • Oversee Production and Logistics teams with a vast understanding of supply chain and logistics 
  • Oversee ordering and management of awards inventory across various warehouse locations 
  • Oversee the Industry Dance Awards Nominee process, including the review, analysis, and organization of all submitted videos. 
  • Analyze financial data in forecasting expenses based on departmental goals, upcoming projects, staffing needs and assets.  
  • Prepare and conduct post budget reviews, cost-saving and operational improvements through future budget cycles.  
  • Prepare variance reports to justify overages and explain savings.  
  • Serve as the company’s representative at events, professional meetings, conferences, and other industry activities. 


Key Qualifications & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, and MS Office Suite software, with solid Excel & Word skills 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly express details, rules, guidelines, and concepts clearly and concisely 
  • A valid US Driver's License and ability/willingness to drive a rental vehicle in any US city scheduled 
  • Able to work long hours and maintain a positive demeanor in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment 
  • Strong self-management skills with the ability to hold oneself accountable 
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills 
  • Proactively handling workloads under stressful or uncertain environments 
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills 
  • Ability to collaborate with leadership in following current policies, procedures, and best practices 
  • Teamwork-oriented and willingness to assume other duties as assigned 


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred 
  • 1-year minimum customer service, support, or relations experience 
  • CRM software experience helpful 
  • List job specific education or specific experience required here 
  • Experience in dance, theater, or performing arts industry a plus 


Work Environment & Physical Demands

Travel is a requirement and candidate should expect, on average, 7-9 Regional event travel assignments (of approximately 3-5 days each) and 1-2 National event travel assignments (of approximately 6-8 days each) throughout the year, which will typically occur during our in-season of January – July. List additional travel requirements, if applicable, such as off-season/industry event travel. Must be okay sharing a hotel room with same-sex or same-gender identifying colleagues.
