Job Description:
Provides cross-functional support across multiple job duties within transportation, in order to provide support and coverage during times of need and cyclical volume. Employees in this position develop expertise in all job functions including scheduling, dispatching, SPED coordination, 3rd Party arrangement, and field trip scheduling. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.Clean motor vehicle record required.

Responsibilities:
Required to communicate, coordinate, use interpersonal skills, analyze, evaluate and compile information; must be able to function well under various stressful circumstances.
Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others.
Serve as a resource to administrators, staff and the community.
Develop and promote good community relations among the Transportation Department, students' parents, the Special Needs Department and the school.
Communicate with maintenance personnel on vehicle availability; schedule transport of assets to and from maintenance, and coordinate contingencies.
Maintain route descriptions and serve as a liaison to the community to provide positive customer service regarding bus routes and bus stops.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Provide scheduling support for route accuracy and routing efficiencies and work directly with the area leadership and schools for field trips, athletics or community outings.
Participate in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
Work closely with Bus Drivers and other transportation personnel in maintenance of the route schedules.
Responsible for information acquisition and distribution via multiple media sources. Responsible for developing and maintaining bus routes and schedules for the transportation of special needs and/or general education students within the District.
Assure all routes are filled as assigned and bus drivers & TEAs are provided with timely instructions.
Use computer routing programs to develop, maintain, evaluate, establish, schedule bus routes/stops and activity trips;for special needs and general education students.
Must be able to work any shift, at any of the transportation locations.
Responsible for dispatching of regular and special education bus drivers and transportation educational assistants; coordinating the assignments of regularly scheduled routes, special events, field trips; monitoring bus drivers’ traffic and locations.
Acquire and distribute information on all daily activities using all available technology formats.
Notify site administrators and area managers of any student discipline and route problems. Collaborate with area managers to develop strategies of route improvement.
Provide operational support within the transportation departments.
Respond and/or route incoming phone calls, two way radio transmissions and emails. Dispatch district vehicles, assign bus drivers and TEA’s, and provide a communication link between district bus drivers, TEA’s, management and community.
Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the functions of this job.
Assist with the development of various projects and special events.
Must maintain the highest level of safety and efficiency for all students.
Monitor bus drivers and TEAs trip status, adjust and reassign as necessary to ensure on-time
performance.
Coordinate with parents and the Special Needs Department regarding the transportation needs of special needs students.
Certifications:
First Aid - Colorado CPR Assoc, May be required to obtain Small Vehicle Certification if needed - as applicable
Education:
High School or Equivalent (Required)

Full Salary Range:
$24.84 USD - $42.54 USD Hourly- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
