Remote Senior Java Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

High-Quality Code Development

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Address and resolve technical debt.

Collaboration

• Work closely with senior engineers, business analysts, and business owners.
• Partner with product owners to break down user stories into actionable tasks.

Technical Support

• Ensure timely releases of features and updates.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve defects.

Testing and Defect Management

• Prepare datasets to test logic, error management, and workflows.
• Isolate, reproduce, and track defects, ensuring proper fixes.
• Create and document test scripts and plans to validate software functionality.

Mentorship

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Risk Management

• Balance software risks and priorities while delivering high-value solutions.

Qualifications

• +5 YoE in software engineering with a strong focus on Java and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in database design and development using MS SQL Server.
• Expertise in AWS (Data Pipeline, Elasticbeanstalk, RDS, DB2, EC2)
• Ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts.
• Proven track record in performing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
• Comfortable working in a fully remote environment as a contractor.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced or superior level in English for communication and collaboration.
