Join the team and become part of our family!Charter Dura-Bar is hiring a Strategic Channel Manager! This role will own and drive the comprehensive strategy associated with the business’s strategic growth platform. The Strategic Channel Manager will focus on all distributors of Dura-Bar products, utilize upstream marketing tools that give direction to the channel distribution strategy and hold a customer facing role with large national distributors. This remote role has 25% domestic travel.What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related degree
  • Seven plus years sales and marketing experience managing the manufacturers relationship at key large national distributors
  • Demonstrated ability to take the output of marketing research documents and detailed reports and translate that information into sales opportunities for key distributors and their key customers
  • Experienced in strategic account development, managing key distributors, selling, negotiating, and influencing their buying decisions
  • Fundamental understanding of the operational principles of the volume/cost/price relationship
  • Demonstrated success in creating and selling specific value propositions to new and existing key distributors and their key customers
  • High-energy, self-motivated and responsible with mature judgment and initiative
  • Capable of managing to completion a variety of projects and programs simultaneously and efficiently
  • Previous success leading others in cross-functional teams and/or project management experience
  • Ability to gain consensus and lead through influence
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to switch messaging and approach that enables successful communication at multiple levels of the business and with external customers
  • Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Office software products, PowerPoint and Excel are a must
Preferred experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related advanced degree
  • Sales and Marketing experience managing the manufacturers relationship at key large national distributors
  • Experience with the strategic planning process
  • Working with ERP Systems
What you'll focus on:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in leading the development of a comprehensive strategic plan to execute the business's national distribution strategy for Dura-Bar
  • Analyze, model, and assess the attractiveness of market opportunities
  • Lead the development of key national distributor strategies to realize the opportunities at both the distributor and their key customers
  • Develop new business sales with key national distributors and their customers that strategically leverages the business’s integrated supply chain
  • Drive the product development process through commercialization to enable immediate and long-term sustainable growth with targeted key national distributors and their key customers
  • Develop deep relationships with key national distributors and their key customers at multiple levels with their organizations
  • Be the fusion point between the business and the distributor and their key customer, being the face of the business to them and voice of the customer inside the business
  • Direct the activities of key national distributors and align the necessary internal resources to interact with and support the customer
  • Develop, evaluate and implement pricing models and strategies to optimize revenue, market share, and long-term profits
  • Monitor competitive activity and identify key national distributor needs
  • Develop segment, key distributor and their key customer plans and deliver upon volume, revenue and margin targets associated the plans
  • Direct regular review of markets, key national distributors, their key customer products and product development progress to identify trends and promising opportunities for profitable long-term growth.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships
  • Make own distributor sales and joint distributor sales calls to current and potential customers to promote new products and services, conduct product knowledge sessions and assist with problem resolution
  • Perform product demonstrations and instructions, using Engineering and Purchasing Department assistance, as necessary
  • Represent the company at industry association meetings or trade shows
  • Perform regular reporting of sales KPI’s and associated countermeasures
  • Develop and provide input into the marketing and sales resource budget to ensure adequate allocation of resources in support of the marketing and key national distributor programs
  • Support the S&OP and Business Planning processes to provide sales forecasts and report performance of the assigned key national distributors and their customers to these plans
  • Proactively recruits new qualifying distributors if necessary
  • Managing potential channel conflict with other firm sales channels by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement
  • Integrating, gaining buy-in, and managing expectations of new product development in a diversified Operations plant structure
