Job Description:

Our client develops software that makes it easy for builders to capture, visualize, and understand their job sites. Product pods are cross-functional teams focused on delivering features that directly enhance our core product, with a close eye on user experience and customer satisfaction. This role is embedded within one of these pods, where you'll work on integrating backend services to support new product features and ensure seamless operation within the broader OpenSpace ecosystem.

We’re seeking experienced backend software engineers to join us!

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly learn and understand new software APIs
  • Collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive, user-focused features
  • Implement scalable, high-performance software that supports product features while considering security, privacy, and potential modes of failure
  • Support the product team by efficiently debugging complex systems and ensuring smooth integration between backend services and the user interface
  • Estimate and prioritize projects effectively, keeping in line with product goals and timelines

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal English proficiency
  • Ability to execute on English instructions effectively and troubleshoot when necessary
  • Minimum of 5+ years of backend software development experience
  • Experience designing and implementing different types of API, especially RESTful services
  • Is proficient in Java and/or Kotlin
  • Experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS
  • Is comfortable working in a product-focused environment and contributing to the overall product roadmap
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end engineers, QA engineers, product managers, and UX designers
  • Ability to be flexible, work analytically, and manage competing priorities in a high-growth environment
  • Knowledge and mindset for automation and improvements to streamline processes for scalability
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and independently developing/proposing remediation solutions
  • Ability to work independently with limited required direction, oversight and guidance on simultaneous projects and teams
  • Dynamic learning and growth mindset
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work with large volumes of data quickly and accurately, ensuring high-quality work
  • Ability to self-check work
  • Worked with remote teams in the past and enjoy contributing to a remote-first culture
  • Eager to collaborate within a product pod to deliver features that are both technically sound and user-friendly.
  • Experience working on (and are passionate about) great SaaS products
