The Role:

Intel 471 is looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to join our world-class team. The role is located in Europe on a remote basis. You will be developing high volume data engineering products, dealing with various data sources, developing both client facing APIs and data processing systems, building large scale projects from scratch and working in the cyber intelligence industry. The role drives the development of high-throughput data processing and visualization software running on a cloud platform.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Participating in agile development projects for batch and real time data processing.
• Resolving production issues with other team members and teams.
• Implementing APIs and streaming services
• maintaining database storage, optimizing queries and data layout in both relational and NoSql databases
• Being confident and able to fully converse in English for day to day communication.
• Applying your technical proficiency across different stages of the software development life cycle including requirements elicitation, application architecture definition and design.
• Exploring, understanding, and implementing next-generation technologies (in particular within the Scala ecosystem).
• Writing and reviewing excellent code in Scala and bringing value to customers by delivering an award-winning product to new heights.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in Scala with solid understanding of FP
• Production experience with Scala modern functional stack like Cats, Cats Effect, ZIO
• Hands-on experience in both relational and NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL or S3
• Experience with microservice architecture
• Experience developing using docker containers or Kubernetes
• Experience writing REST APIs
• Understanding test driven development
