About the job

About The Role

As a Front-end Engineer at CrowdStrike, you will work with a talented and dedicated team to build and maintain the user interface for the Falcon platform to provide our customers with a high quality user experience that customers around the world use 24/7 to protect their systems from the most sophisticated adversaries.

Our stack is Web Components and Ember.js, but if you've used frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue, you'll feel right and home, and we'll help get you up to speed. Since we only support evergreen browsers (Chrome and Edge), we can push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web platform working with truly massive amounts of data. Our ideal candidates are sensitive to the needs of the users and love to solve problems.

We’re a highly collaborative, friendly, inclusive and diverse group that prizes collaboration over competition, and provides opportunities to learn new skills, mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to the direction of both the team and the products we’re responsible for. We work in a distributed, remote-first, high-trust environment where you manage your own time and have the flexibility to balance your work and personal life.

About The Team

You'll join our graphs core team to work on our cutting edge visualizations of our heaps of data.

CrowdStrike is going big on graphs as a means for our customers to make sense of their data and to take action from graphs on what they’re seeing. You’ll work with our partner product groups inside CrowdStrike to ensure that the graph user interfaces of their offerings are cutting edge, beautiful, accessible and accurate. You’ll have an impact across our organization as you enable numerous teams the ability to put relevant and meaningful graphs in their products.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop web components that utilize our graphing library, Keylines, that allow general purpose graphs to be rendered
  • Work with the myriad sets of data we have a CrowdStrike and write tooling to ensure they can all work together in graph views seamlessly
  • Help our partner product team create graph views, and help them manage their entire lifecycle
  • You’ll develop your technical expertise and help the team make informed decisions around engineering, product direction and design
  • Write automated tests for your code
  • Collaborate with fellow Front-End engineers, Cloud Engineers, UX Designers, Technical Writers, QA Analysts, Product Managers, and others
  • Continually learn about the ever-evolving challenges and complexities of the cybersecurity industry
  • Have fun solving hard problems

What You’ll Need

  • A good understanding of JavaScript and some experience building web application front ends with modern tools such as Ember, React, Angular, Vue, or Web Components.
  • HTML & CSS skills, including experience with CSS pre or post processors (like Sass or PostCSS) and CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS
  • Some experience with testing frameworks, tools and methodologies such as QUnit or Mocha
  • Functional knowledge & interest in developing genuinely accessible interfaces.
  • Comfortable with Git or similar version control systems and workflows.
  • A desire to work closely with others to deliver quality software and solve problems.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with the Keylines graph library
  • Experience with graphics and visualization tools such as WebGL, D3 or ThreeJS.
  • Experience creating or contributing to open source projects
  • Experience with web accessibility testing and support
  • Prior experience in cybersecurity
