Trilateral Research is recruiting for a Project Manager for EU Coordination Projects to join our Innovation and Research team in Ireland.


As part of this team, you will drive forward multiple EU projects, including Horizon Europe, from conception to implementation through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

Project Management & Delivery:

  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of Trilateral’s and the project consortium’s work, report on assigned EU projects and track using designated tools and platforms.
  • Oversee project progress and compliance with grant requirements, consortium agreements and Trilateral’s strategy and goals.
  • Ensure good planning and successful and timely submission of project deliverables and completion of milestones.
  • Support research proposals by contributing project management content to coordination proposals.
  • Support project contractual requirements including the preparation of grant agreements for newly awarded research projects and contracts required with both internal and external project stakeholders.


Project Administration & Reporting:

  • Create, maintain, collect, and submit accurate project documentation for the assigned projects to support accurate reporting and project reviews in line with the funding authority, Trilateral policies and procedures, and I&R reporting.
  • Manage, in collaboration with the scientific project coordinators, the EC's Participant Portal Grant Management Service and continuous reporting element, to include deliverables, milestone updates, risk tables, partners’ contacts etc.
  • Create and maintain the project's open access profile and upload project reports.


Project Communication:

  • Act as intermediary for communications between the consortium and the funding authority/client, in collaboration with the scientific project coordinator; build positive working relationships, provide updates, resolve administrative issues, and ensure seamless communication.
  • As needed, and in collaboration with the scientific project coordinators, lead internal project team meetings, and attend external meetings with project partners and stakeholders including consortium events.


Risk Management:

  • Monitor and review progress and adopt/facilitate required risk mitigation measures to ensure smooth project execution and completion.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and quality improvements.


Budget Monitoring:

  • Assist with financial monitoring and allocation of resources, in liaison with the Research Finance team and the scientific project coordinator.


Impact & Thought Leadership:

  • Be a thought leader and support I&R department heads and scientific project coordinators in impact delivery and representing the projects to external clients and at events in line with Trilateral and project goals.




Required education and experience

Essential:

  • 5+ years of professional project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing large EU projects (e.g., EU framework programme projects such as Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe).
  • Certifications or accreditations in project management methodologies, e.g., APMP, PRINCE2, PMP, CSM.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management including communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders e.g., funding bodies, academia, government institutions, non-profit agencies.
  • Experience in managing delivery and submission of project deliverables/reports.


Desirable:

  • Relevant bachelor’s/master's/PhD degree to support responsibilities, e.g. project management, business management, managerial economics or business law.
  • Experience in international grant application and bid management processes.



Professional knowledge and technical skills

Essential:

  • Target-driven with strong project management skills and experience in project coordination, prioritisation, and successful delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience of principles and techniques used in EU project planning and management.
  • Knowledge of the European Commission rules associated with the Horizon Europe programme (grant, administrative, financial, legal).
  • Established negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good risk and conflict management skills.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and deadline management skills.
  • Adaptable and willing and able to change project direction in line with business needs and goals.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in tracking progress.
  • Competency in working with Microsoft Applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint etc.


Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience with the European Commission’s Participant Portal Grant Management Service.


Interpersonal skills

Essential:

  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate, influence and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (e.g., European Commission, coordinators, partners, staff).
  • Ability to work on own initiative and without supervision if necessary.
  • Discretion, where appropriate, to adhere to legal requirements and protect applicable business interests, e.g., data protection, IP rights etc.
  • Confidence to communicate and guide interdisciplinary teams.

What else do I need to know?

Location: This position is open to candidates based in the Republic of Ireland.

Contract type: 12 months fixed term contract.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Hours: Full-time.
