Job Purpose:

The Valuation Executive is responsible for conducting thorough and accurate vehicle valuations to support Consumer Car Buying.

This includes identifying anomalies or discrepancies in valuation requests and deciding whether to value or reject them accordingly.

The role focuses on valuing high volumes of vehicles with precision and identifying vehicles with additional features that may sell well through our remarketing business while achieving business margin expectations.

The Valuation Executive also collaborates with National Vehicle Buyers to discuss valuations and ensure optimal purchasing decisions.


Key Relationships / Key Stakeholders:

National Vehicle Buyers, Team Leaders, Transport, finance and business management to Provide updates on valuation activities and purchase rate and performance.

National Vehicle Buyers: Discuss and review valuations to ensure purchases meet volume and margin targets. Collaborate to identify vehicles with additional features that may be advantageous for remarketing. Or to discuss a price adjustment based on condition findings.

Support the manager in achieving business performance goals and aligning team efforts with company objectives. Assist in implementing best practices and improving valuation accuracy and efficiency.


Decision Making:

Valuation Execution: Conduct thorough and accurate vehicle valuations, ensuring they reflect current market conditions.

High Volume Valuation: Efficiently value a high volume of vehicles while maintaining precision and accuracy. Provide valuations on all accepted offers and focus on non-purchased leads and not accepted leads.

Anomaly Identification: Identify anomalies or discrepancies in valuation requests and decide whether to value or reject them.

Thorough Checks: Ensure comprehensive checks are conducted, asset accuracy, HPI/V-Check, MOT, mileage accuracy, service history, cosmetic condition, mechanical condition, revaluations, written-off status, history check, ex-usage, Google search, finance status, import status.

Benchmarking: Conduct benchmarking using various retail platforms and demonstrate proficiency with CAP valuations.

Affiliate Pricing: Handle affiliate pricing and manage valuations for multiple fuel types, including hybrid and electric vehicles.

Business Support: Help the team achieve volume and margin targets by providing reliable valuations.

Performance Monitoring: Track valuation activities, ensure quality, and address any issues promptly.

Resource Use: Efficiently use available resources to maintain high standards in valuations.

Compliance: Ensure all valuations comply with company policies and industry standards.

  • Affiliate Pricing: Handle affiliate pricing and multiple fuel types, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Reporting: Generate consistent and relevant valuation reports.
  • Market Insight: Stay informed about market trends and conditions.
  • Auction Knowledge: Understand auction processes and dynamics.
  • Manage relationships and working together between internal departments.


Skills and Experience Required:

Valuation Knowledge: Good understanding of vehicle valuation and market trends.

Attention to Detail: Accurate in all tasks.

Communication Skills: Positive, Clear verbal and written communication.

Problem-Solving: Good observational skills.

Time Management: Effective time management and ability to meet high volumes of valuation requests.

Technical Proficiency: Familiar with valuation tools and software.

Industry Experience: Experience with the used vehicle market.

Auction Knowledge: Understanding of auction processes.

Strategic Skills: Experience with strategic decision-making.

Market Insight: Ability to provide market analysis insights.

Experience: In car buying and or valuations.
