What we are looking for

The VP, Product Management takes a lead role in defining the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, defining software requirements in the form of user stories, and managing key stakeholders across development, sales & marketing. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and developing high performing teams, leading, and growing the product management team towards high performance, quality excellence.

What does the job involve

  • Oversee all aspects of product life cycle management from conceptualization, design, prototyping, development, testing, business, and support to product launch.
  • Oversee user experience research to test and specify market requirements for current and future products.
  • Coordination of all product management activities across board, working closely with cross functional teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
  • Identify and meticulously track key success metrics for all product features.
  • Identify and prioritize various growth levers, including developing new features, optimizing existing features, experimentation to drive acquisition/retention.
  • Lead, manage & develop a team of product managers and designers to drive capabilities, create development and career plans and stimulate a culture of high performance.
  • Drive product launch alongside the marketing and sales team.
  • Working cross-functionally with design and technology teams to ensure timely release of product features and enhancements that meet the set quality standards.
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions.
  • Create product requirements document for new product initiatives or product enhancements that enables business growth.
  • Develop Product roadmaps and prioritize features, communicate prioritization choices to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze risk-product, market and customer risk, and develop mitigation plans.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/B.Eng in Engineering, Computer Science, or any related subject areas. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience working in the Fintech industry will be an advantage.
  • Product management certifications (e.g. Pragmatic Institute, Agile Certified Product Manager) or a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10 years related work experience including experience in one or more of the following areas: Management Consulting, Banking, Fintech, and Technology with 4 years in Leadership capacity

  • You have an in-depth knowledge in project management, payment switching & processes, process engineering, scrum, software development & IT operations (DevOps), software requirements analysis, and service delivery.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing product management teams.
  • You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build rapport across various stakeholders including the team, clients, partners, investors, and executive leadership.
  • You are creative and intuitive with an eye for detail.
  • You have problem-solving skills with a view to continuous improvement & automation.
  • You have a strong locus of control; you take extreme ownership over results.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences and through all levels of the company.
