We are currently seeking a Lead Ruby Developer to join our dynamic remote team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of applications that support pricing, trading, hedging, pooling, and shipping functions. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about utilizing the latest tools and techniques, such as Ruby/Rails, RSpec, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript, to drive automation and systems development. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications supporting pricing, trading, hedging, pooling, and shipping functions
• Utilize the latest tools and techniques, such as Ruby/Rails, RSpec, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript, for automation and systems development
• Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s culture and values
• Utilize BDD/TDD techniques during development, focusing on unit testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project completion
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices
• Lead and support the team of engineers
• Mentor and guide junior developers to encourage skill enhancement and career growth
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in software development
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• 1+ year of relevant leadership experience
• Proficiency in Ruby/Rails, RSpec
• Strong command over JavaScript for scripting
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Knowledge of design patterns, refactoring, and unit testing
• Experience with Linux and open source software
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) in automated testing
• B2+ English level proficiency

• Familiarity with Elixir programming
