Job Description

As an account manager, you are responsible for managing the relationships with named clients. The bottom line function for this position is to retain our customers and ensure the transition of clients from satisfied to thrilled.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient use of SEO-related tools like Surfer SEO, project management tool like ClickUp

  • Able to use return-on-investment (ROI) as a decision making tool and provide analysis of relevant performance data to determine go-forward actions
  • Comfortable meeting via ZOOM & other online meeting platforms

Job Skills & Responsibilities

  • Handle all client meetings without Hayden
  • Maintain a 98% retention rate YOY
  • Overly communicate with the client & team
  • Help bring ideas, SOPs, & get feedback from the clients to improve retention & account manager processes
  • Pre schedule Website Design Meetings
  • 1-2 per week call/email/text follow up on clients that have failed payments, no payments, no scheduled monthly progress meetings, Clients that ghost, etc
  • Project management of assigned tasks in clickup
  • Discuss with Operations Manager & CEO for new processes for client retention
  • Meet with clients at least once per month to review reports, progress & plan going forward
    • Run monthly reports (Agency Analytics, Ranking Report, Callrail, LSA, Analytics, Google Search Console)
    • Review report information
    • Put together key feedback for meeting or recap message
      • Spend: SEO vs. PPC
      • Cost Per Lead: SEO vs. PPC
      • Open Items
      • Ideas to suggest
      • Next Steps
    • Do live meeting via, Zoom where they can see you & your screen
    • Send a follow up email with key items covered & open next steps
    • Log & assign new tasks into ClickUp after client meetings, assign to team members and monitor these action items
  • If a meeting can’t be arranged then an email recap should be sent each month (additional Loom video if needed)
  • Discuss with the SEO Director a strategy for each client quarterly
  • Make sure meetings with clients are notated on ClickUp CRM
  • Update CRM along with status
    • Reached out for meeting
    • Had meeting
    • Sent recap email in absence of meeting
  • Respond to client emails on a proactive basis (within the same business day)
  • Answer client inbound calls & deal with requests as needed
  • Document tickets in notes, create tasks in clickup & follow through on open items for clients
  • Weekly CEO/Operations manager meetings
  • Bi-weekly Team meetings
  • Upsell clients as needed (Commissions included)
  • Follow up on tickets weekly to ensure they are in progress & close the loop with clients
  • Update clients via email on the most important tasks when complete
  • Guide clients to grant the agency access to GA, GSC, GBP, LSA, Google Ads, Callrail, Hosting & their website
  • Sending deliverables to the client for review (i.e. keyword research, page optimizations, content strategy)
  • Get feedback/approval from the client and loop the team in on any adaptations
  • Coordination with other agencies we are working with (white-labelled) and their clients
  • Monitoring team’s tasks and timelines within Clickup
  • Monitor ongoing clients’ project boards and tasks
  • Pull, interpret and send out monthly reports to clients
  • Offboard clients (administrative and client communication and feedback survey)
  • New Client Onboarding
  • Welcome client via email
  • Schedule Kick off calls
  • Ensure teams have access and everything required to begin LSA, Google Ads Campaign, SEO campaign and strategy
  • Review strategy document and present to the client for approval


Monthly Tasks



  • Sending upcoming meeting agendas, post-meeting follow-ups
  • Client wins: newly acquired keywords, upward keyword movements/1st position keywords, new featured snippets, Traffic Spike, good costs per lead,
  • Monthly Reporting
  • Prepare for monthly client reporting meetings (Day Prior to Client meeting)
  • Discuss any outstanding issues or items with the SEO, design, dev, content,paid ads team
  • Check ClickUp for:
    • Action items completed during the last month
    • Technical team to-do’s
    • High Priority requests
  • Review client dashboard reporting metrics, which include:
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Search Console
    • Ahrefs keyword movements
    • Agency Analytics keyword positions
    • Organic leads (from website forms/calls Raw & Qualified Leads in Callrail)
    • New backlinks
    • New Content
    • Work In-progress
    • Work Completed
