We are looking for a Data Engineer to focus on our EverPro Mobile Solutions Group (a.k.a. Invoice Simple & Joist).

The Data Engineer will develop and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines, working closely with analytics, growth, and engineering teams to shape long-term data strategies. You'll implement data governance practices to ensure data accuracy and accessibility and collaborate with business analytics teams to improve data models and support data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with analytics, growth engagement, other data stakeholders and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
  • Create and maintain scalable and reliable data architectures; develop and manage data pipelines to support the ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from various sources.
  • Administer and optimize databases, including Google BigQuery and AWS Redshift, to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Implement standardized data governance practices, including data cleansing, normalization, and documentation, to ensure application data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible.
  • Compile requirements and specifications, and coordinate efforts with engineering and business intelligence teams to implement solutions and resolve blockers (both technical and process).
  • Collaborate with business analytics teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:

  • Experience building data architecture strategy from the ground up with an understanding of modern principles and frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of data modeling, design and management. Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like DBT.
  • Experience with mobile app events and mobile payments, in-app purchases, subscriptions and processing financial transactions.
  • Blend of skills in Big Data technologies, database management, data integration tools, and business acumen.
  • Strong development background in delivering data solutions.
  • Excellent hands-on experience in working with SQL and NoSQL data sets.
  • Experience designing complex SQL queries, tables, views, and procedures, including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience with developing data products using data visualization / dashboarding tools like Sisense/Periscope.
  • Experience with data streaming architectures, such as Kafka.
  • Strong knowledge of general software engineering principles and practices. Development experience using Node.js/Express, Typescript.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, within the immediate team and across other organizational units.

Where:

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation:

EverCommerce is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000 CAD per year. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. EverCommerce considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
