Your Future Role

Join our team as a PR Consultant (Contractor) and make a significant impact! In this role, you’ll be instrumental in developing and executing strategic PR campaigns. Your responsibilities will include enhancing brand awareness, securing media coverage, and positioning Thryv as a thought leader in the SMB SaaS industry. Collaborate closely with our US Director of PR to align global PR strategies.

This role is a Part-Time, Contractor Position commencing at the beginning of September 2024, reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Product Marketing.

Ideal Candidate

We seek a dynamic PR professional with strategic vision and excellent communication skills. This individual will contribute to enhancing brand awareness, securing media coverage, and positioning Thryv as a thought leader in the SMB SaaS industry.

Your Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning: Work with Thryv’s US PR head to develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies aligned with business objectives and target audiences. Identify key messaging and storytelling opportunities to build brand visibility and elevate brand reputation.
  • Media Relations: Compile, research and manage media lists across broadcast, podcast, online and print media outlets. Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, industry analysts, and other media contacts. Pitch compelling story angles, press releases, and contributed articles to secure coverage in relevant publications and media outlets. Respond to media enquiries for the relevant Thryv brand/s.
  • Content Creation: Work with Thryv’s US PR head to proactively develop a quarterly press release pipeline that also includes contributed content. Write and edit press releases, media pitches, blog posts, byline articles, and other content materials. Ensure all content is tailored to target audiences and effectively communicates Thryv's value proposition and key messages.
  • Thought Leadership: Identify speaking opportunities, panel discussions, and industry events for Thryv subject matter experts. Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and presentation decks to position them as expert sources in the SaaS space.
  • Social Media Engagement: Collaborate with our global content team to amplify PR efforts and engage with target audiences.
  • Campaign Measurement: Leverage software to monitor and analyse the effectiveness of PR campaigns and media coverage. Track key performance indicators, such as media mentions and brand sentiment, and provide regular reports and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Brand Reputation Management: Proactively monitor news coverage, industry trends, and online conversations related to Thryv, its brands, and its competitors. Identify potential reputational risks or crisis situations and develop proactive strategies to mitigate negative impacts.


What You Offer

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations or communications roles, preferably within the technology or SaaS industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape, including digital and traditional outlets, and proven success in securing media placements.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful PR campaigns, from strategy development to implementation and measurement.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, media contacts, and industry influencers.
  • Proficiency in PR measurement tools/software.
