Robert Half is seeking a Texas barred attorney with Criminal Law experience to assist our client with an ongoing legal research initiative.

Project Information:

  • Start: June 2024
  • Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
  • Pay: $40/hour
  • Location: Remote
  • Hours: 5-15 hours per week


Responsibilities Include:

Our client is looking for a Texas criminal law attorney with at least 3 years’ experience to help draft, review, and revise practical guidance articles on criminal law topics, review and update motions, affidavits, and other related criminal law documents and supplement existing documents with state-specific, “how-to” practical guidance based on state law, local custom, and legal practice experience.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Member, in good standing, of the Texas State Bar
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing criminal law attorney.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and legal research skills
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with track changes and conducting online research
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks effectively


Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as a practicing criminal law attorney in Texas to be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Law Degree from an accredited law school
  • Demonstrable experience in the field of Criminal Law
  • Proven ability in legal research and drafting legal documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and LexisNexis software
  • Expertise in drafting motions, affidavits, and clauses
  • Experience in using the 'About Time' software for time tracking and management
  • Proficiency in reviewing and editing legal documents and templates
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct legal research and apply findings to cases
  • Experience in financial documentation and note taking
  • Proven record of drafting and reviewing legal documents
  • Ability to work with legal document templates and motions
  • Knowledge of legal protocols and court proceedings
  • Excellent skills in legal documentation and research
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and laws.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
