Title : Program Coordinator

Employee Working Location : Remote (Canada)

Employment Status : Temporary Full-time (12 Months)

Salary Band : $ 54,895 - $ 80,055 / year

In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 – Support to international service lines and program management

  • Provides operational management support to the CRC Field Representative and field teams or NS focal points; Support HdR and Director Programs with operational analysis and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and manages the National Office support required for implementation of CRC’s operations within the designated countries/regions, ensuring the effective coordination of inputs from other CRC departments.
  • Support development of annual (AOP) and quarterly workplans to address needs and delivers the objectives in the plan within available resources.
  • Supports the financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, implementation, monitoring, and performance to budget analysis for each designated country/region in coordination with the field team and CRC finance team.
  • Lead on the overall coordination of high-quality concept note / proposal development and submission process (including combining and writing portions of proposal text)

Responsibility 2 – CRC Representation and Coordination

  • Monitors information provided by field teams about projects and activities taking place in relevant programming areas and acts as first point of contact for program inquiries from and to the CRC National Office and Canada-based stakeholders.
  • Acts as main program interface and relationship holder with program level Ottawa-based Government of Canada representatives and other relevant Canadian-based partners, including humanitarian actors, government bodies, academia, and communities to support coordinated programming in coordination with FR, identifies and develops relationships with relevant key RCRC Movement actors, GAC and diaspora communities in Canada as needed.

Responsibility 3 – Security and Risk Management

  • Coordinates with field representatives and risk management on Country Security plans and procedures, reviewing security umbrella agreements with ICRC, ICRC, NS etc.
  • Supports the field in identification and mitigation, monitoring, analysis, and regular reporting of risks to program and reputation.
  • Participates in risk management analysis and business continuity, to ensure the effective application of Movement and CRC security protocols.

Responsibility 4 – Supports an Effective Team

  • Fosters teamwork and the efficient operation through a professional exchange of experiences and expertise that can be transferred to other areas of work; and support the work of IC by participating in the planning and development activities of the department.
  • Maintains effective communication and discussions with relevant CRC staff and shares information and feedback in a constructive way.

What we are looking for :

  • University Degree in international development/relations, project management or comparable related degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with an international organization, including experience managing multiple and complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in international project management methodology, including of results-based management (RBM) tools.
  • Proven experience in managing projects (including attention to detail and working with tight deadlines), budgets, and personnel.
  • Experience writing winning proposals for donors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capacity and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, particularly in program proposals, operational workplans, reports and public materials.
  • Knowledge of CRC IO systems and processes (IO AX, PIMS, etc.) is a significant asset.
  • Strong financial management skills and ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information, produce engaging presentations and reports, and communicate key concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Good understanding of donor compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English. Fluency in Spanish, French, Arabic and other languages is an asset.
  • Proven ability to be a supportive and productive team member.
  • Up-to-date computer skills in MS Office Applications.

Working Conditions :

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
  • Ability to work in stressful and often ambiguous conditions.
  • This position required domestic or overseas travel to attend conferences, workshops and meetings as required.
  • If required, and eligible, periodic travel to country operations may be required. Field missions can involve working in environments that are unstable and with unpredictable access to basic services in emergency contexts and requiring very strict adherence to security regulations.
  • Must be able to be medically cleared before travel in accordance with established CRC medical criteria.
