As a Senior Automation Engineer at Lantern, a leading private equity data provider, you will spearhead the development and maintenance of our automated testing frameworks and Unit Tests.


This role demands deep expertise in automation technologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our financial data platforms.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sophisticated automated test scripts using Playwright/JS, focused on our specific needs for accuracy and reliability in financial data reporting.
  • Work with developers to help produce comprehensive unit tests to ensure the product quality from the desired levels of testing.
  • Integrate automated testing into our GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless updates and deployments with a focus on minimising disruptions in data availability.
  • Utilise TestRail to manage automated test cases, aligning them with project scopes and timelines outlined in JIRA, ensuring thorough coverage and traceability.
  • Mentor QA team members in advanced automation techniques, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and product management, to ensure automation strategies align with business goals and enhance user experience for our financial data products.
  • Lead the evaluation and introduction of new testing tools and practices to keep pace with emerging trends in software testing and financial technologies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent.
  • Over 5 years of professional experience in QA automation with a strong command of JavaScript and automation frameworks like Playwright.
  • Proven track record of implementing automated tests in a CI/CD environment, preferably with experience in GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Extensive experience with JIRA for defect management and TestRail for test case management.
  • Deep understanding of financial data, its nuances, and the critical importance of data integrity in financial decision-making.
  • ISTQB (International Software Testers Qualification Board) Foundation level or Higher.


Desired Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical details and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with TestRail as a test management tool automating the Regression pack and implementing the appropriate integrations with this tool.
