Overview
White Horse Village (WHV),a retirement community located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking Occupational Therapists to our team! White Horse Village is an active senior living community offering a full range of living options and healthcare services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in senior living settings.

Duties

  • Demonstrates competency in the provision of care according to established standards.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for geriatric patients.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Prepares plans for discharge.
  • Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on resident needs, treatment modifications, and progress; applying appropriate standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for residents.
  • Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Control standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of occupational therapy required.
  • State license to practice occupational therapy required.
  • Two years’ experience in occupational therapy preferred.
  • Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach.
  • Ability to direct others necessary.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS credential
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members required.
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required.
  • Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.
  • Familiarity with early intervention practices and patient care techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
