White Horse Village (WHV),a retirement community located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking Physical Therapist to our team! Duties
- Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provides educational information to residents in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy.
- Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of resident's condition.
- Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the resident according to his or her capabilities and desires.
- Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in residents.
- Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the resident.
- Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
- Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
- Establish measurable goals and develop treatment plans to move patients toward their maximum level of independence and/or function.
- Maintain communication among the treatment team, physician, patient, and family members as applicable.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services provided to ensure proper billing.
Requirements
- Graduation from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program (DPT) required.
- PT License in PA.
- Previous senior living experience working with senior populations is highly desirable.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position (lifting, transferring residents, prolonged standing/walking).
- Familiarity with early intervention practices and patient care techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
