Overview
White Horse Village (WHV),a retirement community located in Newtown Square, PA is seeking Physical Therapist to our team! White Horse Village is an active senior living community offering a full range of living options and healthcare services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in senior living settings.

Duties

  • Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provides educational information to residents in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy.
  • Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments of resident's condition.
  • Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the resident according to his or her capabilities and desires.
  • Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in residents.
  • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the resident.
  • Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
  • Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
  • Establish measurable goals and develop treatment plans to move patients toward their maximum level of independence and/or function.
  • Maintain communication among the treatment team, physician, patient, and family members as applicable.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services provided to ensure proper billing.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program (DPT) required.
  • PT License in PA.
  • Previous senior living experience working with senior populations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position (lifting, transferring residents, prolonged standing/walking).
  • Familiarity with early intervention practices and patient care techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
