POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Office of Public Charter Schools (OPCS) accomplishes this by promoting school choice and high- quality educational settings, bold and innovative educational strategies; providing an environment that promotes respect for all students and their individual identities; and engage students in academic and authentic learning opportunities, service learning, and personal development. The Administrative and Compliance Coordinator provides vital support in the administration and compliance processes for the Office of Public Charter Schools. The Administrative and Compliance Coordinator reports to the director, while working closely with the entire OPCS team to provide high-quality authorizing practices for 18 authorized schools impacting over 9,000. 

 

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions) 

 

Strategy and Thought Leadership  

  • Coordinate the process of Epicenter updates on timelines, narratives, etc. as needed

Operations and Outcomes  

  • Review reports and documentation submitted by portfolio of schools on Epicenter database, including but not limited to monthly board minutes, annual reports, etc.  
  • Work with Oversight and Evaluation Manager on managing submissions to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate any issues on submissions with school leadership.

 

People and Community Development  

  • When appropriate, join OPCS staff for professional development opportunities that enhance the capacity, effectiveness, and efficiency of authorizing practices.
  • Participate in weekly team check-ins
  • Participate in bi-weekly individual check-ins with director
  • Provide prompt Epicenter technical assistance to board and schools leaders
  • Coordinate scheduling support to director, OPCS Staff, and any processes or special events.
  • Model and uphold Pillsbury United and OPCS values with team and external stakeholders 

 

 

 

Financial Management 

  • Manages office inventory needs and supplies
  • Prudently procures office supplies and items for special events

 

Required Skills/Experience 

  • Ability to navigate and utilize Epicenter database used to collect pertinent documents from authorizer charter schools.
  • Experience working with and providing services to historically oppressed and marginalized communities
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Ability to synthesize information to provide analysis and recommendations to director.  
  • Strong orientation towards educational justice and transparency
  • Broad knowledge of office functions and equipment.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with cloud-based document sharing programs (e.g. Dropbox and Google Docs)
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be detail- oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
