Under general supervision, plan, organize, and coordinate activities and operations related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Kern Integrated Data System and similar integrated technology platforms.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience:
At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience supporting and operating data management systems, integrated applications, or reporting platforms using modern database methodologies.
Two (2) years of experience managing or coordinating system integration projects, database administration, or technical support programs in a multi-user environment.
Two (2) years of experience working with enterprise-grade DBMS products (preferably Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).
Education:
Any combination equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems, or a related field.
Additional comparable experience may be substituted for formal education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary Info
$11,097 - $11,950 per month. Maximum entry level for external candidates is $11,658 per month. Salary step placement for promotional candidates is based upon Rules of the Personnel Commission.

•Each candidate’s application papers and the answers to the essay questions contained with the application will be thoroughly evaluated and ranked by a screening committee appointed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position is overtime exempt and has a probationary period of one year.
