Under general direction, the Lead Infrastructure Systems Engineer will lead design efforts of enterprise technology infrastructure and systems that support the technology needs of the organization, ensure systems and applications are operational and available, and ensure system efficiency and integrity by assisting with creation of department standards and procedures, as well as research and support for new technologies used in the environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience:
Combined seven (7) years’ experience in an engineer role designing and implementing enterprise-level datacenters, including supporting systems such as cooling and power;
including design and operating experience with Linux systems, Windows Server, virtualized server environments, and SAN storage;
systems management or MIS background with some project management experience is preferred.
Education:
Graduate of a four-year (4) college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Equivalent experience in an applied setting regarding the above technology can be substituted for degree requirements.

Salary Info
$8,861 - $10,740 per month. Salary step placement for promotional candidates is based upon Rules of the Personnel Commission.

Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possess a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days, whichever is longer.
