Job Summary:

Bongards’ Creameries is seeking a Powder Handler for the Bulk line at our Humboldt facility. The Powder Handler is responsible for the addition and mixing of all required ingredients for each Blend of cheese in accordance with the recipe.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verifies ingredients are being added according to the Blend Sheet
• Opens and feeds 50lb bags of ingredients into hoppers or blenders
• Records lot numbers of all ingredients added to the blender
• Maintains immediate work area in a neat and orderly fashion
• Responsible for removing all opened and used bags from work area
• Must maintain good communication with grinder operator(s)
• Become trained and knowledgeable on all GMP and HACCP guidelines
• Become trained and certified on Powered Industrial Trucks
• Learn how to use ROSS systems
• Assemble bags of dry ingredients on pallets and stages them for use
• Assist in other areas when necessary
• Work in a safe and proficient manner
• Notify maintenance as necessary in event of a breakdown
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent Math and Reading skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other Quality guidelines
• Must maintain highest quality standards for plant and equipment cleanliness
• Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs

Schedule:

• Night Shift 5:30pm to 6:00am Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday
