We are currently looking to hire a Protective Operations Specialist to join our team embedded with our client in Washington, D.C.! This position requires working onsite with our client in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
*This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts. Weekday, weekend, evening, and night shift work may be required. Domestic and international travel will be necessary.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage based protective operations in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area focused on delivering exceptional security services to the Principals and guests. Additionally, you will be tasked with implementing internal programs designed to increase efficiency and deliver results. This position will be responsible for the coordination and operational deployment of protective resources to safeguard the Principals. The role will also be expected to train local security resources to augment operational requirements due to an enhanced risk profile or a high volume of operations. The Protective Lead is expected to work directly with the Principals, their guests, internal and external stakeholders, and key business partners to deliver best-in-class security services. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, attention to detail, and a process-oriented approach are fundamental to the success of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide in-person management of DMV-based security operations or protective details
- Conduct necessary local driving assignments
- Provide Executive Protection support to the client
- Provide limited-duration augmentation to domestic or global operations in support of client travel
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the estate team, local law enforcement, other security details, and commonly visited venue staff
- Lead key internal team and organizational initiatives
- Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, processes, and escalation protocols specific to the delivery of protective operations in New York
- Maintain excellent rapport and open lines of communication regarding Principal needs, requests for support, service issues, and deliverables
- Ensure assigned deliverables are met across the full suite of security services
- Proactively communicate with the Principals and security team leadership regarding identified risks to personnel, property, or reputation
- Identify gaps in processes and resources, and develop methodologies to address these gaps as part of the larger security strategy
- Oversee quality control and training as needed for employees, embedded staff, and contracted security assets
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
- At least 8 years of government experience providing protective security services
- Experience working as a member of a protection detail
- Experience developing and delivering protective protocols and measures at the organizational level
- Experience working with contract staff and employees to provide comprehensive protective services
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver protective services.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and inspire a growth mindset
- Ability to legally carry a concealed weapon in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with high-net-worth family or corporate protective details
- Experience in corporate security, military, or law enforcement
- Advanced medical training (TECC, TCCC, EMT, Paramedic)
- Experience working in overseas environments
- Posses LEOSA (H.R. 218)
