The Compliance Analyst provides review of congruency of research funding applications, provides associated training, and serves as an institutional resource.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a basic science. A scientific background and lab research experience is preferred. Grant writing and animal research would be a plus. IRB experience is not applicable for this role.
This Compliance Analyst role is hybrid, with at least monthly onsite presence and potentially more dependent on business needs.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Review for congruency of research funding applications.
Performs comparative review of grants and sponsored agreements with IACUC, IBC, Stem Cell and Radiation protocols. Advises faculty and supporting staff of congruency review status and facilitates correcting any outstanding issues to complete the review.
Institutional Resource
Serves as an institutional resource by assisting faculty and staff with IACUC, IBC, HEIPSCRO, and RSC questions through the help lines or email. Additionally, provides assistance with finalizing grant congruency. Refers questions and issues to responsible personnel when appropriate in a timely manner. In addition, maintains yearly metrics for grant congruency reviews. Serves as a backup analyst for IACUC, IBC/RSC, HEIPSCRO (Stem Cell) and MTA congruency. Updates the website as needed. Assist in other areas as requested.
Trainer
Provides training classes for faculty and staff regarding animal and biosafety materials on grant congruency reviews.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Master's degree in a basic science.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Four years experience in research or research compliance, general/legal regulatory compliance, corporate compliance, privacy compliance, billing and reimbursement or billing compliance, healthcare administration and/or general business as an analyst, auditor or fraud investigator. With preferred degree, two years of experience required. May substitute required degree with additional years of related experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: A scientific background and lab research experience is preferred. Grant writing and animal research would be a plus. IRB experience is not applicable for this role.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
