- Supervise attendant guards and other appropriate personnel; prepares and implements personnel post assignments.
- Assists in the orientation and training of security personnel.
- Reports inappropriate behavior of personnel to superiors and prepares related documentation.
- Implements emergency procedures. When necessary, provides first aid and notifies appropriate Garden staff, 911 and/or the authorities when necessary.
- Responds to all emergencies and calls for assistance, providing first aid and notifying 911 and/or the authorities when necessary.
- Responds to calls of disorderly conduct, suspicious persons, and trespasser’s, evicting such individuals and notifying the authorities when necessary.
- Enforces NYBG policies and procedures.
- Prepares all necessary reports and completes required forms.
- May be assigned tasks usually performed by subordinate personnel.
- Assists visitors, staff, and students with reasonable requests.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in all types of weather.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Security Guard License from the Division of Licensing Services.
- Must have a minimum of three years full time experience in security or related work.
- In possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Indoor Place of Assembly F-03 Certificate of Fitness or be able to successfully receive the required Certificate of Fitness within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment F-01 Certificate of Fitness or be able to successfully receive the required Certificate of Fitness within the first 90 days of employment.
- Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems S-95 Certificate of Fitness or be able to successfully receive the required Certificate of Fitness within the first 90 days of employment.
