About The Role

The FCCHEN Education Specialist provides ongoing support and technical assistance to providers to promote a high-quality and early learning program for children and families.  

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Supports Program Director on various projects and assignments related to provider, family, and children’s services
  • Maintains a schedule of regularly announced and unannounced visits to each Provider’s location to help monitor and provide support.
  • Helps ensure that the Providers in compliance with the funding terms and conditions and Title 5 requirements of the CFCC and CCTR contracts
  • Coordinates with enrollment regarding Notice of Action
  • Coordinates with Finance Billing Specialists and providers regarding attendance sheets
  • Ensures child files are updated
  • Ensures that Title 5 and Title 22 requirements are met (DRDP/Regular Parent/Teacher conferences, FCCERS, Annual Parent Surveys)
  • Ensures that the DRDP is completed within 60 calendar days of enrollment and at least once every six months. The completed DRDP may contain may include work samples, photos, videos, and written observations that support the completion of the DRDP.
  • Demonstrated correlation between the Desired Results Developmental Profile findings and the activities provided to the children in the classroom.
  • Review the Provider’s physical space for safety and capacity to support learning, interactions, and learning activities in the Provider’s licensed home
  • Education Specialists will review curriculum plans and Desired Results required documentation (DRDP/FCCERS and Parent Survey) reports, Summary of Findings and Plans of Action at least twice a year and as often as needed or as requested by the Provider.
  • Offers regular on-site technical assistance to Providers to create and implement a quality curriculum that meets the needs of children and promotes positive outcomes for children
  • Acts as a liaison to promote a continuous and interactive process between the providers, families, and
  • Kidango agency staff to create and sustain a strong community that is empowering and responsive to feedback and needs. Builds and maintains supportive and effective professional relationships with Kidango agency staff, providers, provider’s assistants/volunteers, and families.
  • Helps support regular communication and effective meetings and workshops are provided to Providers and families that are meaningful and responsive to their needs.
  • Commitment to continuing ongoing quality improvement, including own professional development and maintaining unexpired teacher credentials.

 Preferred qualifications

  • Child Development Teacher Permit
  • Minimum 4 years experience in the field of Early Learning
  • AA required, BA preferred
  • Experience with a FCCHEN highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Title 5 and Title 22 regulations highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Early Learning Programs and Learning Genie highly desirable
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking, reading, and writing skills required
  • Ability to work independently and on a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends

 

Compensation

  • Must pass background fingerprint clearance 
  • Valid Driver License

  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
