Material Control Attendant (Shipping) – Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Forklift Operation
    • Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and transport materials.
    • Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and report any maintenance issues.
    • Follow warehouse safety protocols while moving materials.
  2. Shipping & Receiving
    • Verify shipping documents (bills of lading, packing slips, etc.).
    • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks .
    • Ensure accurate material counts and proper documentation for shipments.
  3. Truck Loading & Spotting
    • Check trailer condition (doors, flooring, structural integrity) before loading.
    • Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
  4. Material Handling & Organization
    • Wrap, stack, and palletize materials for shipment.
    • Label and organize inventory in the shipping area.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse/shipping area.
  5. Equipment & Safety Compliance
    • Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
    • Use proper PPE (gloves, safety shoes,  vest, etc.).
    • Report any workplace hazards or incidents immediately.
  6. Team Coordination
    • Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
    • Assist with other warehouse duties as needed (receiving, stocking, etc.).


Requirements (Example):

  • Previous forklift certification & experience required.
  • Experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry (ERP/WMS systems a plus).
