Cetera Financial Group is seeking a Director, Compensation to lead the design, implementation, and administration of competitive, equitable, and performance-driven compensation programs. This role will play a key part in shaping enterprise-wide initiatives and ensuring alignment with business goals and talent strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and management of cash compensation (base and bonus) programs across all employee levels.
• Drive the annual pay review process in partnership with Talent Development and Finance, ensuring alignment with performance management and budget planning.
• Maintain and evolve the company’s job architecture, including job codes, leveling guides, and job descriptions in collaboration with Talent Acquisition.
• Conduct market pricing and benchmarking, including survey participation, data analysis, and development of salary ranges and pay guidance materials.
• Manage compensation-related systems and vendor relationships.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure external job postings align with internal pay structures and market competitiveness.
• Serve as the primary compensation contact for HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition.
• Oversee compensation aspects of organizational changes, including M&A activity.
• Lead compensation governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide training and consultation to HR and business leaders on compensation practices and decisions.
• Translate complex compensation data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation design, analysis, and program management.
• Proven leadership experience in managing compensation programs and cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency; experience with tools such as MarketPay or Oracle is a plus.
• Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High level of discretion, judgment, and ability to manage sensitive information.
Compensation Range:
The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $165,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations.
