The Assistant Training Manager will assist in all on-going training and special training programs for First New York. The Assistant Training Manager will assist the Manager of Training in actively researching, designing and implementing effective methods to educate the credit union employees of all levels. The Assistant Training Manager will elevate the impact of training to career development and assist department Managers in moving team member up through the credit union hierarchy. 


Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop and deliver on-going training classes for existing employees in the areas of quality service, sales, product knowledge, computer skills, and leadership. 
  • Develop and deliver specialized training for employees as requested by department managers. 
  • Develop and deliver supervisory training classes for all new supervisors and refresher supervisory classes to all supervisors as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training for all new credit union initiatives (new products and services, new computer systems and software, new policies and procedures).
  • Assist the Manager of Training with orientation for all new team members to the credit union.
  • Assist the Manager of Training in overseeing the training conducted by the training staff of all new member-facing team members, including but not limited to, Tellers and MSRs.
  • Assist the Manager of Training with creating an annual training plan and published training calendar.
  • Assist the Manager of Training with the scheduling of team members and maintain a database for reporting on all internal and external training attended.
  • Assist the Manager of Training with developing and delivering training related to e-service products.
  • Working with the Manager of Branch Operations, develop and maintain procedures manuals for branch team members (Teller Manual, Member Services Manual, and IRA Manual).
  • Assist other departments in writing and maintaining procedures for their manuals (Lending, Accounting, etc.)
  • Create curriculum that will improve and maintain the excellence in member service initiatives. 
  • Coordinates training with 3rd party vendors as needed. 
  • Evaluate course effectiveness through electronic feedback from attendees and work with the Manager of Training to modify programs as needed based on results.
  • Manage participation in the credit union’s online training program related to positions in all levels of the credit union.. 
  • Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and credit union employees.
  • Create curriculum and manage process for employee certification programs.
  • Supervise and evaluate the training staff to ensure continued professional growth within the organization. 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years of training and supervisory experience. 
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency and visual graphics design ability desired.
  • Good organizer, meticulous in work habits and management skills.
  • Superior public speaking skills for both small and large groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

Work Location: Fully On-Site


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15am - 5:00pm
