PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assists supervisory staff to ensure that janitorial functions are accomplished within prescribed timeframes according to established standards. Performs janitorial services at assigned locations as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that all daily and weekly cleaning activities are completed as specified by the Site Supervisor. Prepare daily schedules of cleaning duties, i.e., kitchen areas, carpet cleaning, floor care, restrooms, offices, and other areas as needed. Teaches work to employees using simple and repetitive training methods. Inspects work to ensure a high degree of quality. Performs janitorial services at assigned locations. Duties include mopping and waxing floors and vacuuming. Adapts supervision and training approach to employees based on each of their disabilities and ability to comprehend job duties and training instructions. Assists in monitoring a running inventory of supplies and maintaining all janitorial equipment. Notifies Site Supervisor and Job Coach immediately of any problems with employees.
Ensures compliance with State and Federal Wage and Hour laws. Works overtime as needed. Drives on company business as required. Performs other job-related duties as required. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property. Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations. Follows all company policies and procedures. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed. Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness. Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for employees receiving training at Landmark.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED. One to two years janitorial experience required, supervision experience preferred. Prior experience working with people with disabilities is desirable but not required. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and written. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, preferred. Valid driver’s license, liability insurance, and a DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill and Landmark’s insurance company.
