Hybrid Shop Manager/CDL A Driver at Lee Machinery Movers

Onsite:

This is an onsite position that requires the selected candidate to be onsite 5 days per week in Saginaw, Michigan.

Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a Shop Manager/CDL-A Driver to stage, load, and occasionally transport heavy equipment & materials to LMM jobsites. The Shop Manager/CDL-A Driver will also conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and oversee the day-to-day operations in the Saginaw location.  

Responsibilities:

• Receive orders from dispatcher and the estimating team and execute and/or delegate work to employees to ensure that all daily tasks are completed before close of business 
• Complete or assist in staging, loading, lashing down equipment, tooling and materials on trucks working closely with dispatcher in preparation for upcoming projects 
• Plan and schedule daily work activities, allocate resources, and ensure the efficient flow of projects and tasks to meet deadlines
• Transport equipment and materials over land to and from jobsites daily utilizing various vehicle configurations including Multi-Axe Trailers, RGN, Conestoga, Tag trailers, & Stake trucks
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical items and safety issues
• Perform preventive maintenance as needed and report any defects or violations
• Comply with FMCSA & MDOT regulations, as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maintain general organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, trucks, and equipment 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including logs, inspection reports, fuel receipts, and other necessary paperwork required for regulatory compliance and company records
• Address technical and operational challenges that arise during projects, identify solutions and coordinate resources to resolve issues
• Train and coach yard team members to meet operational standards

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsement
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the past five years
• At least 21 years of age to accommodate FMCSA interstate guidelines
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of experience operating commercial trucks preferred
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsement
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the past five years
