Hybrid Solutions Engineer for JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA PyCharm Development)

About the Role - As a Solutions Engineer specializing in JetBrains IDEs, you will play a pivotal role in helping our enterprise customers design, configure, and integrate our solutions into their development environments and pipelines. You will work closely with both our internal engineering teams and external customers to ensure the seamless implementation of IDEs, assisting with technical troubleshooting, system optimization, and customizing features to meet specific user needs. You’ll be expected to combine deep technical expertise in software development tools, IDE ecosystems, and workflows with excellent communication skills to drive customer success and contribute to the continuous evolution of our products.

Responsibilities

• Customer engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, understanding their development environment needs and offering tailored solutions using IDEs, plugins, and development tool integrations.
• Solution design and implementation: Work with customers to design and implement tailored solutions that leverage IDE features, ensuring they align with the customer's development processes and goals.
• Technical support and troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support, troubleshooting IDE-related issues, debugging environment configurations, and addressing any technical challenges in integration or usage.
• Product integration: Assist in integrating IDEs with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (for remote development and containerized development), and other development tools, and ensure smooth, continuous workflows for developers.
• Training and enablement: Conduct training sessions and webinars, and create documentation to help customers understand best practices for maximizing their use of IDEs.
• Collaboration with development teams: Work closely with internal engineering teams to provide feedback on product performance, suggest product improvements, and help test and refine new IDE-related features.
• Customer feedback loop: Collect and analyze customer feedback to contribute to product roadmap discussions and help prioritize future enhancements to the IDE and development tools.
• Pre-sales support: Assist sales teams in technical pre-sales activities, providing product demos, answering technical queries, and helping prospects understand the full capabilities of the IDE.

Qualifications - Several years of very good programming experience with JetBrains IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or PyCharm. Experience with code quality tools, debuggers, and profiling tools within IDEs. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in development environments, for example, Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, C++, and JavaScript. Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git, as well as build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or Bazel. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, customer-friendly manner. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Several years of experience in technical consulting, technical customer success, enterprise support, or other customer-facing technical roles.
• Experience with development and automation tools beyond IDEs, such as containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), or monitoring tools.
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) to automate IDE configurations or integrations.
• A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, software development workflows, and cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Good knowledge of other IDEs such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar tools.
