Grizzly Industrial is seeking a Product Development and Quality Control Specialist to join our team in Bellingham, WA. This hands-on role bridges product development and quality control, supporting the design, testing, and certification of woodworking and metalworking machinery.
You’ll assist in evaluating product samples, building prototypes, modifying designs in SolidWorks, and supporting product certifications. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional with strong shop skills and experience in CAD—whether through formal education or hands-on industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Evaluation: Receive, inspect, and test product samples. Conduct design reviews, assess compliance, and document findings with photos and detailed reports.
- Prototyping & Fabrication: Support rapid prototyping using machining, welding, fabrication, CNC and 3D printing tools.
- CAD & Documentation: Create and revise models and drawings in SolidWorks. Prepare production-ready documentation for vendors and internal use.
- Certification Support: Assist with compliance documentation and sample preparation for CSA, UL, and TUV certification processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, service teams, technical writers, and vendors to troubleshoot issues and improve designs.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with domestic and overseas suppliers to resolve technical issues and support product improvements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field OR equivalent professional experience in product development or machinery fabrication.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mills, lathes, welding, and general fabrication.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling and drawing creation required).
- Familiarity with CNC programming, 3D printing, and machining workflows.
- Experience with CSA, UL, or TUV certification processes is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AC, DC, and BLDC motors and basic electrical safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); AutoCAD experience a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
